SAN DONA' DI PIAVE
San Donà di Piave is an Italian municipality of about 41856 inhabitants and it’s located in the province of Venice.
Situated along the lower bank of river Piave (sacred river), San Dona’ di Piave was the setting of conflicts during the First World War. The post-war period was characterized by the reconstruction of the monuments destroyed by the bombings, first of all the Cathedral of “Santa Maria delle Grazie”.
Today the town is constantly evolving: the municipality together with other associations enhances it to the fullest by creating new paths also accessible to disabled people.
The main places of interest are the lower bank of the river Piave with its natural areas, quiet and soothing and the “Museo della Bonifica” where the history of the reclamation of San Dona’ di Piave is told with images and objects. The town is in a strategic position as it’s located near the seaside resorts of Jesolo, Caorle and Eraclea. Furthermore there are numerous possibilities to easily reach Venice.
